Course Reserves for Students

Textbooks and other materials required for courses may be on reserve at Morris Library. Look up your course to see what is available. You may check out reserves materials for 2 hours and use them in the library. Materials on electronic reserve are available 24/7.

Special Collections Research Center

The Special Collections Research Center holds unique and rare materials including rare books and primary sources in a number of subject areas, as well as the university archives.

Government Information

Morris Library's Government Information collection holds documents from government sources including state and federal sources. Morris Library is a Federal Depository library.

Instructional Materials Center

Children's books, posters, puppets, games, and other materials for those working with children of K-12 age.

OpenSIUC

OpenSIUC is an institutional repository offering permanent, reliable, and free access to research and scholarly material produced at Southern Illinois University Carbondale.

DVDs and Videos

Morris Library has a sizable collection of DVDs and other video materials. You may browse the DVDs on the third floor of the library or search for a specific title in I-Share.

Dissertations and Theses

All dissertations and theses completed at SIUC are held at Morris Library. They are available in print on the third floor and many recent ones are available online.

eBooks

Morris Library provides access to a number of ebooks through online databases. Generally these books also can be found by searching I-Share. In most cases, borrowing ebooks from other libraries is not allowed by the ebook license agreements. The collections below are for SIUC students, faculty and staff use.

Material Types

Morris Library holds many types of materials including audio recordings, CD-ROMs, dissertations and theses, government documents, images, instructional materials, maps and aerial photography, microforms, movies, newspapers, archival materials, statistical resources, and television programs.
